About Mary Jane
Hello - I'm Mary Jane Baxter a writer, milliner and maker with a love of the past. After working for 15 years as a BBC reporter and producer, the hat-bug got the better of me and I decided to study millinery professionally.
I trained with hat-maker-to-the-stars Stephen Jones then set up my own label maryjanemillinery. My first collection was snapped up by Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge and since then I've sold hats to dancers, divas, and everyone in-between.
After teaching millinery for three years at The Kensington and Chelsea college and publishing two books, I hung up my hat and bought a dilapidated old Bedford Bambi camper van.
I've spent the last eighteen months doing it up so I can hit the road and craft on the go. Mary Jane's Mobile Makery is now up and running. I'll be leaving the UK on 23rd April to take my Mobile Makery around Europe!
