About Mary Jane

Hello - I'm Mary Jane Baxter a milliner and a maker with a love of the past. After working for 15 years as a journalist, the hat-bug got the better of me and I decided to study millinery professionally. I trained with hat-maker-to-the-stars Stephen Jones then set up my own label maryjanemillinery. My first collection was snapped up by Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge and since then I've sold hats to dancers, divas, and everyone in-between!

I write a monthly column for Homes & Antiques magazine, called Style on a Shoestring and last year I published my first book Chic on a Shoestring  with Kyle Books all about making your own vintage-style accessories.  I'm currently working on a second book which will inspire you to try making your own hats at home. It's going to have a real vintage spin. Look out for it in Spring 2013 (fingers crossed!).

Do sign up for one of my workshops - details about what's coming up are in the workshops section of the website. Or why not organise your own hat-making party? I've run events all over the country, and I'd love to come and meet you too!

If you're interested in buying a hat or having one made-to-measure, take a look at my gallery. Prices on request.
